Races Washed out at Davenport Speedway

DAVENPORT, IA (July 18) - Persistent light rain finally washed out the racing program Friday night at the Davenport Speedway. After two delays for rain and twelve of the thirteen heat races had been run, the event had to be called.

Tuesday, July 22nd, the racing action returns to the Davenport quarter-mile oval for the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models presented by Barak's Truck Repair of Fulton, Ill. Joining the late models will be 4 Stocks, B-Mods, and Street Stocks.

After the first eight races of the 2008 Deery Brothers Summer Series tour, there have been eight different winners. Boone McLaughlin of Mediapolis, leads the Deery Brothers point standings and currently leads the point standings at the Davenport Speedway where he has been a regular weekly competitor this season.

Tomorrow night, Saturday, July 19th, the racing action moves to the Jackson County Speedway for the 2nd Annual Dusty Kay Memorial. The winner of the CrashedToys.com 4 Stock feature will take home a $500 first prize. Also racing for weekly points on the evening will be the Obie's IMCA Late Models, Pro Mods, Straight Pipes Street Stocks, B-Mods, and the Bruce's Auto Body Hobby Stocks.
Saturday's racing program is sponsored by I-Wireless. The first 200 I-Wireless customers will receive free grandstand admission on that night.

DRT TRAK RACING would like to thank the racers that helped try to get in the show and the fans in attendance for their patience and patronage.
