Andy Eckrich Wins First Ever Deery Brothers Series Race at Farley Speedway

FARLEY, IA (August 3) - Tuesday night was a special running of the IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series at the Farley Speedway, in Farley, Iowa, as twenty five late models were on hand at the lightning fast three eights mile facility. Jeff Aikey and Kevin Blum brought the field around for the waving green with Aikey grabbing the lead. Aikey was the early leader through several early cautions, until Andy Eckrich took over the point for the lead on lap eight. Eckrick the youngest of the three racing brothers, began to build his lead. The last of the cautions fell on lap thirty six, and after that Eckrich put some distance between himself and second place at that point Terry Neal. With Eckrich having the race in check the battle for second heated up between Neal and Ray Guss Jr. with Neal grabbing the edge in the end.. Andy Eckrich won his first ever Deery Brothers Summer Series victory finishing a straightaway ahead of Terry Neal in second,Ray Guss Jr. third, Jeff Aikey fourth with Mark Preston fifth. Kevin Blum won the first heat over Darrell DeFrance,Terry Neal,and Jeremiah Hurst.Jason Rauen won the second heat over Ray Guss Jr.,Jeff Aikey, and Brian Harris. Andy Eckrich won the third heat over Tyler Breuning Mark Preston,and Dan Shelliam.Todd Mallstrom won the b-main over Ben Nading, Joe Zrostlik,and Bobby Hansen.

Waterloo,Iowa,race car driver Vern Jackson grabbed the lead at the drop of the green flag,survived several caution flags, and went on to capture his fourth IMCA open wheel modified feature victory of the season.The win for the veteran driver was worth $500 for his efforts as he lead the twenty lapper from flag to flag.Jerry Luloff placed second,Leon Wilsn was third,Mark Schulte finished fourth,and Jason Seegmiller came from the rear of the pack to finish fifth.

No stranger to victory lane in the fyer division Brannon Bechen grabbed the lead at the outset,then kept Jeremy Campbell at bay and lead the ten lap flyer feature from flag to flag and pocketed the $200 first place prize..Campbell finished second,John Flury third,Pat Quinn fourth,with Paul Sebrook fifth.
