‘Night of Destruction’ returns to the Jackson County Speedway

MAQUOKETA, Ia. (August 31, 2010) – Phone your friends, wake the neighbors, and throw the rulebook out the window!! It’s time once again for that motorized mayhem known as the ‘Night of Destruction’ to return to the Jackson County Speedway in Maquoketa.

The 2010 version of the ‘Night of Destruction’ will be held Saturday, September 4th. The event is highlighted by “Cheater Races” for the weekly classes, and the world famous, “Trailer Race”.  The ‘Night of Destruction’ is promoted by DRT TRAK Racing Inc.

Cheater races will be held in the Pro Mod, IMCA Modified, Street Stock, Hobby Stock, and 4 Cylinder Stock classes. With the tech guys taking the night off, you never know what the crews will do to make their cars go faster.

The “Trailer Race” has become a mainstay of the Jackson County Speedway schedule. The “Trailer Race” is part endurance race, part demolition derby, where the objective it to be the last vehicle running and still pulling a trailer.

A conglomeration of tow vehicles and trailers, help to make the “Trailer Race”, one of the wackiest races ever held. A top prize of $200 awaits the winner. All drivers are strongly encouraged to assist in debris clean-up, Sunday morning.

The pit gate will open at 4pm for the ‘Night of Destruction’, with the grandstand opening at 4:30pm and racing starting at 6pm.
