Hurst Grabs Open Late Model Night One Win at Farley

FARLEY, IOWA (September 3, 2010) - Jeremiah "hot rod' Hurst passed leader Chad Simpson undrneath for the lead in turn two on the twenty fifth lap, then lead the remaining fifteen laps in notching night one of three open late model shootouts here at  the farley speedway Friday Night. The twelve year veteran from Dubuque notched his first win of the 2010 racing campaign and is a past champion of the prestigious Yankee Dirt Track Classic, which this race was a tune up for to be held here in two weeks the 15th-19th of September. Chad Simpson was the only other leader of the forty lap event leading the first twenty four laps but exited the race late with driveshaft issues.. Hurst who drove a fine race,saw Jake Meier come from thirteenth place to finish second, Denny Eckrich was third, Chris Simpson placed fourh, while Curt Martin came from a mid pack restart from the rear with a flat tire to run fifth. Chad Simpson won the dash over Jason Rauen Jeremiah Hurst,Curt Martin,Ace Ihm,an Denny Eckrich.Denny Eckrich won the first heat race over Brian Harris and Curt Martin. Ace Ihm won the second heat race over Ron Klein and Chad Simpson.The third heat saw Jason  Rauen ovrer Jeremiah Hurst and Chris Simpson.

Just ike the late models the modified doivision only had two leaders as Jeff Larson lead the first eleven and winner Jason Schueller the final nine for his first win of 2010 at farley speedway.The veteran from dubuque finished several car lengths ahead of Jeff Larson in second,Mark Schulte third,Matt Christ fourth,with Ryan DeShaw fifth.Jeff Larson topped the dash over Matt Christ Jsson Schueller,Jamie Pieffer,,Mike Wiedeman,and Mike Burbridge.Mike Weideman won the irst heat race over Matt Christ and Mike Burbridge.Jason Schueller won the second heat race over Jeff Larson and Jamie Pieffer.

Being in the right place in the stock car feature was where Ed McIntyre was as going into turn one on the nineteenth lap Greg Gill seemed to have things well in hand with the lead and all when he developed a flat right fron tire pulling his car up lame to the top side of the race track.McIntyre being in the right place at the right time move his mount around for the ensuing pass and on for the win.McIntyre a past champion in this class was ollowed across the line by Justin Speers in second, Timmy Current third, Wayne Hora fourth, with Austin Heacock fifth. Austin Heacock nailed the dash ahead of Tim Current Greg Gill, Wayne Hora,Ed McIntyre,and Joe Bonney.Greg Gill won the first heat over Tim Current and Ed McIntyre. Wayne Hora won the second heat over Joe Bonney and Justin Speers.
