Eckrich Over Guss In Night One Thriller at 33rd Yankee

FARLEY, IOWA (September 15) - If the rest of the 2010 33rd Yankee Dirt Track Classic is anything like opening night racing fans of all ages will be in store for and exciting outcome. Polesitter Andy Eckrich passed Ray Guss Jr. to regain the lead on lap thirty one and lead the remaining four laps to win the thrity five lap IMCA late model feature to kick off the 2010 Yankee Dirt Track Classic here at the Farley

Speedway. Eckrich lead the first nineteen laps which saw the events first caution on lap seventeen for Todd Hormel sitting atop

of turn two with a broken rear end.Three laps later Ray Guss Jr,the 2010 IMCA National Late Model Champion, and 2010 Deery Bros. Series Champion as well as owner of three track championships moved his late model to the point for several laps. Not to be outdone, Eckrich the 2010 IMCA West Liberty Track Champion kept digging and digging and moved around Guss on lap thirty one for the lead,a lead he would never relinquish. Guss Jr. finished second, Terry Neal was third, Tyler Breuning fourth, with Jeff Aikey, finishing fifth. Joe Callahan, Ray Guss Jr, and Terry Neal posted heat race wins as twenty three IMCA late models were on

hand for competiton.

Preliminaries were held in the other four classes with heat races and b-mains being run in the IMCA Modifieds, and B-Modifieds as well. Jason Seegmiller, Jason Schueller, and Vern Jackson posted heat race wins with Jeff Kriz winning the B-main in the IMCA

Modified class.In the B-modified division a large number of those were on hand thirty two to be exact with John Campbell Sr., Zack Less and Duane Toay winning heat races,and Tyler Madigan,and Matt Gansen winning the two b-mains..

In the limited stock division nineteen cars were on hand with Quinton Miller, and Troy Baurer winning heat races. In the Farley Flyer division Jeremy Campbell,and Tyler Kelly posted heat race wins out of the fourteen competitors on hand.
