Harris Auto Racing returns as title sponsor for Race of Champions

BOONE, Iowa (March 11) – One of the best names in the chassis building business returns as title sponsor for one of the biggest events in the IMCA Modified racing world.

Harris Auto Racing again provides a portion of the point fund for the Race of Champions, to be held on Saturday, Sept. 10 during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals.

Qualifying for the 12-car, 12-lap $1,000 to win race will be open only to previous race winners, national, regional and Super Nationals champions, and to top drivers in local track standings competing at Boone Speedway. Clint Hatlestad’s convincing victory in last year’s event put him on the ballot for the 2011 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.

Harris manufactures Modified and SportMod chassis, as well as the Terminator Stock Car and Hobby Stock chassis, and also retails high performance parts. Owner John Logue is a 10-time qualifier for the Race of Champions and won the event in 2001.

Harris is in its 16th season as an IMCA partner and its fifth season as title sponsor for the Race of Champions.

Information about Harris-made chassis is available by calling 515 432-6972 and at the www.harrisautoracing.com website.

"The defending IMCA national Manufacturers Cup champion, Harris has a long-standing history with this event even before they became the title sponsor,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “It remains one of the crown jewels to win for any IMCA Modified racer and will continue to be with the support of Harris Auto Racing."
