Davenport, Maquoketa, Quad City dates 
next for Deery Brothers Summer Series

DAVENPORT, Iowa (April 12, 2011) – The mettle of man and machine will be tested this weekend, as the Deery Brothers Summer Series sees action on three consecutive nights.

The IMCA Late Model tour is at Davenport Speedway on Friday, April 15; at Jackson County Speed­way in Maquoketa on Saturday, April 16; and at Quad City Speedway in East Moline, Ill., on Sunday, April 17.

Each feature pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start.

Brian Harris and Matt Ryan, both of Davenport, and Matt Bailey of Quincy, Ill., each own feature wins through the first three events, but a trio of top five finishes have Terry Neal of Ely on top of the point standings heading to Davenport.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. at Davenport. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.

Admission to the grandstand is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, and free for kids 10 and under. More information is available by calling 563 326-5338 or 563 652-5302 and at the www.drttrak.com website.

The first of six complimentary cookouts scheduled during the series is from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Satur­day at Brad Deery Motors in Maquoketa. Driver Charlie McKenna of Clear Lake will have his grill car, an otherwise IMCA legal Late Model, at the dealership and the local Fareway store will pro­vide pork loins, hot dogs, potato chips and bottled water.

Representatives from the Karsyn’s Krusaders Kickin’ Cancer’s Butt One Lap At A Time organiza­tion will help spearhead the event and 25th anniversary Deery Brothers Summer Series shirts will make their debut for purchase as well.

Proceeds from the sale of Deery shirts are donated to families of cancer patients.

McKenna will clean off the grill and hightail it to the track, where the gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing is at 6:30 p.m. Grandstand admis­sion is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students and free for 10 and under.

New promoter Shane Davis is at the helm for the Sunday show at East Moline, where pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 3:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 5 p.m. and racing gets under­way at 5:30 p.m.

Reserved grandstand seating is $16. Adult tickets are $15, seniors’ tickets are $14 and kids’ tick­ets are $5, with five and under admitted free. More information is available by calling 309 792-5030 and at www.quadcityspeedway.webs.com.

Pit passes at each track are $25.

Fifty-nine drivers have competed at one or more of the first three series events. With the start of IMCA’s weekly point season for Late Models on April 22, the tour is off until the May 17 show at Marshalltown Speedway.
