Koehler Electric Season Opener slated for Davenport Speedway DAVENPORT, Ia. (April 20, 2011) – The chase for the 2011 track championships at the Davenport Speedway, begins this Friday, April 22nd. Fans of the Davenport speedplant will notice a couple of changes to the weekly format for the 2011 season. First, after a couple of years of dwindling car counts, the Pro Mods have been dropped from the weekly show. This means there will be four weekly classes this season: IMCA Late Model, Street Stock, IMCA Modified, and 4 Stocks. Second, with only four weekly classes the start times have been pushed back to where they were several years ago. Hot laps will begin at 6:30pm and the racing action will start at 7pm. The later start will allow for more fans and racers, who work on Friday, to arrive at the track for the start of the racing program.
