CJ Speedway season gets underway April 29, new classes added 

COLUMBUS JUNCTION, IA (April 25, 2011) – The 2011 season at CJ Speedway in Columbus Junction, Iowa will kick off on Friday, April 29 for the first point races of the year. Promoters, Brian and Amanda Tipps and Don and Sharon Wood,  have released the upcoming schedule of events for 2011 and the season will see some changes with two new divisions being added to the program. 

Besides the  return of the IMCA Stock Cars, Modifieds, and Mod Lites, the 4 Cylinders will now be sanctioned as IMCA. Also added throughout different dates this season will be IMCA Type Late Models and USRA/ IMCA type 9 to 1 Hobby Stocks. 

Special races scheduled throughout the year will include the  Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders on May 27, the Vintage Club will take to the track on May 28, July 23 and Aug. 20 and Wapello Auto Parts 3rd Annual Fire Cracker 25 featuring a 25 lap IMCA Stock Car feature will be held July 1st.  The Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series will return to CJ Speedway on Thursday, July 28th. 

The I-Wireless CJ Speedway Lil’ Racer Car Club will be back with a number of events scheduled through the year for kids under age 14. The first event for  the kids will be Friday, April 29  with an Easter Hunt and a special appearance from the Easter Bunny. Check out their website at www.lilracercarclub.com for more information.
