MAQUOKETA, Ia. (May 5, 2011) –DRT TRAK Racing Inc., joins the rest of the Quad City racing community in mourning the loss of Hershel Roberts. Hershel was a great racer and a good friend. May he rest in peace. We have been asked to distribute the following information for racers who wish to participate in the services for Hershel: The family would LOVE to have the race cars at both the visitation and the funeral. Drivers who wish to bring their racecars to the visitation and/or funeral for Hershel, have been given permission to use the northwest corner of the parking lot at Farm and Fleet (5900 John Deere Road) in Moline. Drivers who wish to bring their racecars to the visitation or funeral, are also asked to email the funeral home at “vanhoe@vanhoe.com”, so they can estimate the car count. If anyone has questions, please call the funeral home at (309)755-1414. Visitation is 2-7 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Church of the Quad Cities, 4700 53rd St., Moline. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday, also at the church. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers and statuary, a memorial fund has been established for a charitable gift in Hershel's name.
