DAVENPORT, Ia. (May 6, 2011) – The Memorial Day weekend has always been a favorite of racing fans across the country. Whether you follow the World 600 for the NASCAR drivers in Charlotte, or the open wheel pinnacle, the Indianapolis 500, it is a great time to be a racing fan. DRT TRAK Racing Inc. would like to add some local flavor to what is already a great racing weekend. Two nights of exciting stock car action, featuring two IMCA Modified Shootouts. The first shootout will be at the Davenport Speedway Friday, May 27th, and the second at the Jackson County Speedway in Maquoketa on Saturday, May 28th. Both tracks are promoted by DRT TRAK Racing Inc. and the main event each night will pay $2,000 to win. The IMCA Modified features will be 40-laps, with 20 cars making the main on both nights. There will be a $50 entry fee for IMCA Modifieds at each track. For those traveling to the races, camping is available at both racetracks. For more information on camping facilities, contact promoter Bob Wagener (563) 652-5302. Also racing at the shootout in Davenport, will be IMCA Late Models, Street Stocks, and 4 Stocks. Pit gates at Davenport open at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30pm and racing starts at 7pm. The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street, in Davenport. The regular weekly classes will also be racing at the Jackson County Speedway, IMCA Late Models, Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks, and 4 Stocks. Pit gates at Maquoketa open at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:00pm and racing starts at 6:30pm. The Jackson County Speedway is located at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, in Maquoketa. Grandstand admission for both events will be: Adults $15, Teens/Seniors $14, 12 and under free with a paid adult.
