Goedert, Johnson, Miles, Tharp, Bonnett, and Flury, Take Opening Night Victories At Farley

FARLEY, IA (May 6, 2011) - Threatening skies didn't dampen the spirits of the race car drivers as the racing fans were treated to a lightning fast race track in all six divisions under the IMCA banner here at the Farley Speedway Friday evening.

In the IMCA Late model division fifteen year racing veteran Luke Goedert battled feverously with Charlie McKenna the last five laps finally taking the lead for good ion lap twenty two then leading the rest of the way for his first late model win of the season, and first victory in over two years. McKenna placed second, after leading laps twelve through twenty two, Jeff Aikey was third, Joel Callahan back in action after sty roll over last week placed fourth, with Travis Smock placing fifth.

Fifteen year racing veteran Adam Johnson started on the outside of the front row, survived several late race cautions and motored on for the 20 lap IMCA Modified feature victory feature victory his first of the season. Johnson lead the twenty lapper from flag to flag and won his eight lap heat race also. J.D Auringer placed second, Vern Jackson third, Mark Schulte fourth, with Tony Olson fifth

Twenty six year racing veteran Jerry Miles passed Terry Rittmer on the third lapp then lead the remaining twelve laps for his first IMCA Stock Car feature win of the season. Timmy Current was second, Terry Rittmer third, Jarred Franzen fourth, with Austin Heacock fifth.

Cory Tharpgrabbed the lead at the drop of the green flag and went on to win the twelve lap IMCA Sport Mod Feature leading from flag to flag. Rob McDonald was second, Jason Doyle third, Hope Schmerebach fourth, with Mike Mitchell fifth

Billy Bonnett made the long tow from Knoxville, Iowa, a successful one as he won the twelve lap IMCA Hobby Stock feature leading wire to wire. Vince Bucholtz was second, Mick Weidemeier third, Jarred Miles fourth, with Jeremy Campbell fifth John Flury won his second IMCA SPORT Compact feature of this young season leading the ten lapper in its entirety.

Chris Youngblood was second, Chris Powers third, with Mark Scholtes fourth.
