Neal, Bowman, Current, Neal and Harding Take Opening Night Wins

MAQUOKETA, IA (May 7, 2011) - After a beautiful afternoon it may have been a bit chilly evening, but fans were treated to some great racing action for the Jackson County Speedway opener.  Stephan Kammerer took the lead of the IMCA Late Model feature on the drop of the green with Terry Neal taking over on lap six.  At lap ten Ray Gus Jr moved into second and the chase was on.  A nineteenth lap restart had Bryan Klein move in between Neal and Guss, but a lap later Guss was back in second, But nobody was catching Neal as he sailed on for the victory.  Guss was second with Klein third.  Local favorite, Ryan Duhme came home fourth as Kammerer held on for fifth.

Thad Wilson used his front row starting spot to take the early lead of the IMCA Modified feature with pole starter, Ray Cox Jr taking over on lap three.  Brian Webb took over the point on lap six and appeared to have things in control until with four laps to go he retired with mechanical woes.  Jake Bowman led the last four laps to take the win.  Jake Waterman was second with Joe Beal coming from thirteenth for third.  Sixteenth place starter, Dan Klatt was fourth with Kelly Meyer fifth.

Pole starter, Mitch Schmitz snatched the ea4rly lead of the Street Stock feature and by lap four was having to hold off the challenges of Timmy Current.  On lap nine Current moved out front and went on for the win.  With two laps to go Josh Starr and Kerry Dake tangled on the front stretch sending Dake rolling off the banking.  Kerry was Ok as he quickly climbed out of the car.  Schmitz held on for second with Kevin Brame third, Dan Mohr fourth and Emily Gade fifth.

Matt McGranahan led the first lap of the Hobby Stock feature with Justin Yarolem taking over on lap two.  At the mid-race point Yarolem was involved in a caution and on the restart it was Josh Neal out front.  Neal went on to take the win with Bruce Yoerer second and son Nate Yoerger third.  Kile Vohringer came from tenth to take fourth with Shawn Flagel fifth.

On lap four of the 4-Stock feature Jake Montoya went by Rob Harding Sr to take the lead and appeared to sail on for the victory.  The only problem was his car was found illegal in the post race inspection and the win went to Harding.  Mitch Bielenberg was second with Robby Harding Jr takine third.  Brandon Jewell was fourth with Gene Potter fifth.
