DRT TRAK RACING gearing up for IMCA Modified Shootouts

DAVENPORT, Ia. (May 24, 2011) – Two big nights, two big races, $2, 000-to-win each night!

This weekend the IMCA Modifieds will invade two eastern Iowa racetracks, looking for a big payday. DRT TRAK Racing Inc., is hosting a pair of IMCA Modified Shootouts, where the main event each night will pay $2,000 to win.

The first shootout will be at the Davenport Speedway Friday, May 27th, and the second at the Jackson County Speedway in Maquoketa on Saturday, May 28th.

The IMCA Modified features will be 40-laps, with 20 cars making the main on both nights. The modifieds will use a draw/re-draw format. There will be a $50 entry fee for IMCA Modifieds at each track.

Both tracks have experienced excellent modified car counts so far this season. After three weekly events at the Davenport Speedway, the average is over 30 cars in the IMCA Modified division.

IMCA Modified drivers will also be able to earn some extra cash at the Shootouts. At Davenport, the driver finishing in a selected position 11th through 20th, will take home an extra $50, from the Engineered Maintenance Service - Modified Appreciation Award. The EMS-MAA is given out weekly at the Davenport Speedway. Engineered Maintenance Service is the IMCA Modified class sponsor at the Davenport Speedway.

If one racer is fortunate enough to win both Shootouts, they will take home the Dirt Racer Magazine Double Dip Bonus of $100 cash. Dirt Racer Magazine covers dirt track stock car racing in the greater Quad City area. The magazine is distributed free of charge at area racetracks.

Also racing at Davenport, will be IMCA Late Models, Street Stocks, and 4 Stocks. Pit gates at Davenport open at 4:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30pm and racing starts at 7pm. The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street, in Davenport.

The regular weekly classes will also be racing at the Jackson County Speedway,  IMCA Late Models, Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks, and 4 Stocks. Pit gates at Maquoketa open at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:00pm and racing starts at 6:30pm. The Jackson County Speedway is located at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, in Maquoketa.

Grandstand admission for both events will be: Adults $15, Teens/Seniors $14, 12 and under free with a paid adult.
