Harris Coppess Dopler Herring Chandler Win Saturday Night at West Liberty

WEST LIBERTY, IA (May 28, 2011) - Brian Harris passed Andy Eckrich for the lead on the sixteenth lap and lead the remaining nine laps for his second IMCA late model win of the season here at the west liberty raceway and fourth victory of the season overall. Tommy Elston lead the first four laps before Andy Eckrich moved around front on lap five and lead for ten laps. Harris and Eckrich staged a great two car battle with Harris moving ahead with nine laps remaining. Andy Eckrich placed second, Colby Springteen third, Tommy Elston fourth, with Tom Golbe fifth.

In the Gustaf Engine and Machine Open Wheel Modified a main twenty lap feature Noah Coppess passed early leader Brad Dubil on lap four and lead the remaining sixteen laps in notching his first win of the season in convincing fashion.Steve Stewart was second,Todd Hansen third,Johnny Spaw fourth,with Bruce Hanford fifth.

In the Kile Motorsports stock car division Blaine Dopler passed leader David Brandies on lap seven,then kept Matt Greiner in check the rest of the way to notch his first ever win at the raceway and his second win of the season for the young four year driver. Matt Greiner placed second,David Brandies finished third,Thad Payne fourth with Jesse hMAN FIFTH

In the IMCA Type Modified twelve lap feature fast Larry Herring starting from the fifth slot on the starting grid got his first win of the year in the dvision.Mark Schulte came from seventh to second,Dakota Hayden finished third,Zack Less was fourth, with Dave Schrier rounding out the top five.

In the IMCA Sport Compact Division Nathan Chandler took the lead from Bill Whalen Jr on the fourth lap and went on to win his second his second IMCA Sport Compact feature win of the season. The feature was marred by a nasty rollover as the left front of driver Steve Miedkes car broke and he rolled.He walked to the ambulance which was a good sign. Bill Whalen Jr, placed second, Brad Chandler third, Merv Chandler fourth, with Tyler Whalen fifth.
