Re-scheduled IMCA Modified Shootout set for Friday

DAVENPORT, Ia. (June 1, 2011) – This Friday, June 3rd, IMCA Modifieds will again invade the Davenport Speedway for the re-scheduled IMCA Modified Shootout. The 40-lap IMCA modified feature will pay $2,000 to win.

The shootout was originally set for Friday, May 27th, but was rained out shortly before hotlaps were to begin.

Jackson County Speedway in Maquoketa did get their IMCA Modified Shootout in the books last Saturday, May 28th. Forty-one mods were in the pit area at Maquoketa, representing four states.

The big winner at Jackson County was Brian Mullen of Seymour, Wisconsin. David Murray Jr., of Oberlin, Kansas finished second with Maquoketa native, Jake Bowman taking third.

If Mullen wins this Friday at Davenport, he will also capture the Dirt Racer Magazine Double Dip Bonus of $100 cash.

Twenty cars will start the IMCA Modified feature. The mods will use a draw/re-draw format. There is a $50 entry fee for IMCA Modifieds.

Also racing at Davenport, will be IMCA Late Models, Street Stocks, and 4 Stocks. Pit gates at Davenport open at 4:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30pm and racing starts at 7pm. The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street, in Davenport.
