Cedar County Raceway hosts June 14 JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour show

TIPTON, Iowa (June 8) – Cedar County Raceway opens the gates to the JR Motorsports Haw­keye Dirt Tour, when the series for IMCA Modifieds comes to Tipton on Tuesday, June 14.

The main event pays $1,000 to win and is a qualifier for the 2012 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA national, ButlerBuilt North Central Region, Allstar Performance State and special series points will be awarded.

Pit gates and the grandstand open at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:45 p.m. with racing to follow.

Grandstand admission is $12 for adults and $5 for kids, with youngsters five and under admitted free. Pit passes are $25. Cedar County stock cars will run for $400 to win and the local 4-cylinders chase a top prize of $250.

Vern Jackson and Josh Ruby were feature winners in the first two Hawkeye Dirt Tour events of the season. Third- and fifth-place finishes have Ryan Dolan on top of the early series point standings.

Two Thursday shows follow on the series schedule this month, on June 23 at Cresco Speedway and on June 30 at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson.
