BVR, Marshalltown, Independence primed for June 27-29 World Products Great American Stock Car Series dates

ALTA, Iowa (June 22, 2011) – Checks for $1,000 will go home with the winners following all three feature events in the IMCA World Products Great American Stock Car Series.

The opening night program at Alta is part of Buena Vista Raceway’s Kyle Suter Memorial show on Monday, June 27. Marshalltown Speedway follows with the Toby K’s Hideaway 1K program on Tuesday, June 28 and Independence Motor Speedway hosts the Wednesday, June 29 finale.

National, home region and Allstar Performance State points, as well as special series points, will be given each night. Drivers competing at all three shows will be eligible for shares of a $1,500 point fund.

“Purse and point fund money are two reasons why this series has become so popular,” noted IMCA Vice President of Operations Brett Root. “Another is the prestige. Winning any of these features, let alone the series crown, is a tremendous accomplishment.”

Damon Murty of Chelsea is the defending champion. The top driver in 2012 series points becomes eligible to qualify for the Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champions during the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Cenex.

The grandstand opens at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. at BVR, where Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods race for $500 to win. Marshalltown, where SportMods run for a $1,000 top prize, opens the grandstand at 5:30 p.m. and starts racing at 7 p.m.

IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks run for $300 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $100 to win both Monday and Tuesday.
