NIGHT AT HAWKEYE DOWNS SPEEDWAY THIS FRIDAY
WALL OF FAME PRESENTATIONS SCHEDULED

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (June 22, 2011) - Yellowbook presents action in the Papa Johns Cup/I-Wireless Championship Series this Friday night June 24 at Hawkeye Downs Speedway.

In addition to heats and features in all six regular Hawkeye Downs divisions, the Innovative Signs Trophy Dash is also on the card with six drivers from the Sunline Hornets division battling for six laps.

Also Friday night, available members and representitives of the 2011 class of the Hawkeye Downs Wall of Fame will be presented during intermission.

The Hawkeye Downs Wall of Fame Class of 2011 includes Les Burianek, Jim Gerber, Ron Hochstetler, Benny Jamison, John Mudd, Paul Newkirk, Charles “Chopper” Safley and Karl Sanger.

Brad Osborn continues to lead the points chase in Performance Concepts Late Models with one feature win this season. Andy Edwards sits in second.

In Coca-Cola Sportsmen, Cory Houdek holds a slight edge over Dave Ballstaedt on the chart. Houdek has three feature wins.

Tim Plummer has turned four feature wins into the points lead in Budweiser Modifieds with Brian Gibson riding in second.

Nathan Ballard already has racked up four feature wins in 2011 in the Barron Motor Supply Hobby Stocks with Matt Petrzelka, who sits second on the point chart, holding a win as well.

Probably the most competitive division thus far this season has been the Sunline Hornets with four different drivers earning feature wins to date. Brad Chandler has a narrow two-point edge over Derek Parrott at the top of the order.

Pre-race ceremonies including the Hanford Post #5 Color Guard kick off at 7:15 pm Friday evening with the first green flag set to wave at 7:30pm.

Adult admission is still just $10, Senior Citizens (62+) are $7, Students over 12 are just $5, College Students are just $5 with a valid ID and Children 12 and Under are absolutely FREE!
