Davenport Speedway prepares for Casey’s Mid-Season Championships

DAVENPORT, Ia. (June 22, 2011) –After a wet and wild Spring, it’s time to turn up the heat. The first stock car race of Summer, will be this Friday, June 24th, the Casey’s General Stores Mid-Season Championships at the Davenport Speedway.

Due to several rainouts and a couple schedule breaks, only four race nights have been completed this year going into Mid-Season. Point leaders in the four weekly classes are:
Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Model …..….... Nate Beuseling, Silvis, IL
EMS IMCA Modified ………………………………….. Thad Wilson, Moline, IL
Koehler Electric Street Stock ……………………….….. Jeremy Marquette, Davenport, IA
Lujack Northpark Auto Plaza 4 Stock …………….…… Wade Dahl, Blue Grass, IA

Street Stock racer, Jeremy Marquette, leads all racers at Davenport with three feature wins already this season. 4 Stock driver, Wade Dahl, has two wins, while ten drivers are tied with a single victory. Two classes, IMCA Late Model and IMCA Modified have yet to see a repeat winner in 2011.

The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street, in Davenport. Pit gates at The Davenport Speedway open at 4:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30pm and racing starts at 7pm.
