Friday Night Racing at Marshalltown

MARSHALLTOWN, IA (July 1, 2011) - The first feature of the night was the O'Reilly Auto Parts Mod Lites. Adam Davis would take the early lead.  Mike Kennedy would take the lead from Davis.  Kennedy would have to battle with Randy Bryan late in the race.  Bryan took the win with Tim Hennigar, Mike Kennedy, Andy Hennigar and Adam Davis finishing 2nd through 5th. 

Toby K's Hideaway IMCA Hobby Stock feature would see some great racing action. Jennifer Hulin lead the first handfull of laps. Hulin would have to battle with Nelson. Brandon Brinton takes the top spot away on lap 6. Kevin Fee then took his shot at the top spot. On the final restart, Fee would have to do battle with Michael Murphy. Coming off turn 4 on the final lap, Murphy would make it stick and beat Fee too the line to take the win. Donavon Nunnikhoven, Brandon Brinton amd Christopher Wiltse rounding out the top 5. 

Big 8 Tyre Center IMCA Sport Mods took to the track and  before a lap would be completed 3 cars would get together in turn 2. On the restart, Duinink would take lead. Jenae Gustin would pass Duinink to take the lead. Gustin's lead was short lived as Cayden Carter made the pass to take the lead. The cautions on lap 6, 7 and 11 would be the only thing that would slow Carter down as he would cruise on to the win. Tyler Droste, Scott Davis, Brad Iverson and Eric Flander would finish 2nd through 5th. 

Andy Bryant would lead the first lap in the IMCA Stock Cars feature, but Steve Meyer took it away. Meyer stayed out front until lap 11 when Trent Murphy passed for the lead. Murphy would go on to take the win. Meyer, Tracy Gienger, Jay Schmidt, Curt Hook roundes out the top 5. 

The final feature of the night was the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel IMCA Modifieds. Ronn Lauritzen took the early lead. Todd Schute made a late race charge to the top of the speedway.  He was able to pass Lauritzen and go on to take the win.  Lauritzen, Jimmy Gustin, Duane Peterson and Adam Larson rounded out the top 5. 

Racing action resumes next Friday night at Marshalltown for Budweiser Night at the Races, Hot Laps at 6:45pm and Racing at 7:30pm.
