HOCHSTETLER TOWING NIGHT THIS FRIDAY AT HAWKEYE DOWNS
THE HOCHSTETLER TOWING GREAT BIKE GIVEAWAY IS BACK!

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (July 20, 2011) - This Friday night, July 22 is Hochstetler Towing Night at Hawkeye Downs Speedway, Iowa’s only weekly asphalt racing program. Hochstetler Towing is the “Official  Towing Service Provider” of Hawkeye Downs Speedway.

Hochstetler’s affiliation and sponsorship of Hawkeye Downs Racing spans several years and also includes the Great Bicycle Giveaway again this year. Kids will have a chance to win one of several brand new bicycles courtesy of Hochstetler Towing.

All six divisions of the Papa Johns Cup/I-Wireless Championship Series will again be in action Friday night including double features in the Performance Concepts Late Model division.

 Performance Concepts Late Models and Budweiser Modifieds will battle on the fast Hawkeye Downs half-mile while Coca-Cola Sportsmen, Barron Motor Supply Hobby Stocks, Sunline Hornets, and McGrath Powersports INEX Legends clash on the quarter-mile.

In addition to heats and features in the six divisions, six drivers in the McGrath Powersports division also will compete for hardware in the Innovative Signs Promoters Choice Trophy Dash.

 Brad Osborn has a six point lead over Andy Edwards in Performance Concepts Late Models with Mason Mitchell just one point in back of Edwards. This Friday night could have major implications on the point race with twin 30-lap features on the card.

Cory Houdek continues to lead the way in Coca-Cola Sportsmen although his margin shrunk a bit with Dave Ballstaedt’s win last week. . Houdek has racked up six trips to victory lane while  Dave Ballstaedt rides in second with two wins while Greg Hentrich is third on the chart.

Brian Gibson holds the lead in Budweiser Modifieds as he rides a thirteen point margin over Ryan Luedtke. Tim Plummer sits in third.

A big shake-up occurred last week in Barron Motor Supply Hobby Stocks last week after Jeremy Robbins earned the feature win. Matt Petrzelka now holds the point lead with Nathan Ballard in second and Robbins in third.

Matt Blake continues to “own” the McGrath Powersports Legends division point chart using consistent finishes and perfect attendance to bolster his margin. Al Diercks sits second on the chart with Bryce Bailey checking in at third.

Brad Chandler continues to lead the way in Sunline Hornets but his margin has shrunk to just six points over second-place  Derek Parrott. Dallas Chandler, the most recent feature winner, rides in third.

Pre-race ceremonies kick off at 7:15 pm with the first green flag set to wave at 7:30pm.

Adult admission is still just $10, Senior Citizens (62+) are $7, Students over 12 are just $5, College Students are just $5 with a valid ID and Children 12 and Under are absolutely FREE!
