By Dana Royer/CJ Speedway

COLUMBUS JUNCTION , IA (August 12, 2011) - The Columbus Junction State Bank/ Mincer Ford IMCA Stock Car Summer Shootout had a full field of cars eager to take home the $700 to win money for winning the 25 lap stock car feature. Coming off a win the week before, Jim Redmann, repeated, taking the checkered flag. Other winners included Darin Smith, Wapello (sport compacts), Troy Phillpott, Muscatine (mod lites), Steve Stewart, Burlington (modifieds) and Jeff Guengerich, Washington (late models).

Twenty-five stock cars started the main event for the night trying for the $700 to win prize. Blaine Dopler would move up from his sixth place start to take the lead on lap four and led the field for then next fifteen laps. The fans were on the edge of their seats with some close and exciting racing going on throughout the field. With five laps to go, Redmann and Dopler got together and Redmann took over the lead. He then went on to take the checkered flag followed by Shane Richardson, Jason Cook and Dopler. Redmann collected the $700 to win prize but since $200 of that prize was donated by Preferred Auto Sales (Redmann), $200 then went to the second place finisher of Shane Richardson.

Additional money was awarded for the following:

Hard Charger Award ($75) to Rod Staats , starting 25th and finishing 5th. (Preferred Auto Sales).
