Meyer Makes His First Trip to Victory Lane of this Season

MAQUOKETA, IA (August 20, 2011) - Saturday at Jackson County Speedway four drivers made return trips to victory lane, but one driver got his first win of the season.  Powder Puff races were also ran at the end of the regular program.  The Powder Puffs were won by Robin Hute, Angie Feller and Alice Sterbenz.  After some great and hard fought qualifying races the first feature to hit the track was the Ricky Rox Mobile DJ Service Hobby Stock feature.  Gene Ehlers took control early but with two laps to go the caution flew.  On the restart ninth place starter, Joe Grant went out front and on for his second win of the season.  Nate Yoerger was second with Matt Short third, Josh Neal fourth and Justin Yarolem fifth.

Pole Sitter, John Ahlers led the first lap of the Gade Racing Engines/Shirts’n’Stuff IMCA Modified feature with Tim Arp taking over on lap two.  On lap three Kelly Meyer went out front and before it was over he was kept busy holding off Bob Diminacki.  With Meyer running the low side and Dominacki running the top, Meyer took the win for his first this year.  Dominacki was a close second with Mitch Morris third.  Arp held on for fourth with Matt Stein fifth.

The drop of the green for the Straight Pipes Plus Street Stock feature had Kevin Brame charge out front.  At the mid-race point Timmy Current moved by and went on for his eighth trip to victory lane this season.  Chip Kohl was second with Brame holding on for third.  KC Ansel took fourth with Kerry Dake fifth.

Front row starter, Don Pataska grabbed the early lead of the B & D Pit Stop IMCA Late Model feature, but Doug Nigh moved out front on lap three.  On lap seventeen tenth place starter, Ray Guss Jr took over the point and went on for his third win this year.  Thirteenth place starter, Terry Neal was second with Nigh holding on for third.  Pataska held on for fourth with Bart Miller taking fifth.

Jon Muller led the first lap of the Hawkeye Auto 4 Stock feature with Andy Wagener taking over on lap two.  On lap eight Chris Holmlund went out front, but two laps later eleventh place starter, Jake Ellithorpe got by and went on for his third win of the year.  Holmlund held on for second with Gene Potter third.  Gage neal was fourth with Wagener fifth.  Mike Barten rolled his car during this race and happily was unhurt.
