DUBUQUE, IA (August 21) - Dan Shelliam grabbed the lead early in the race then held off a hard charging Terry Neal throughout to capture his first IMCA late model victory of the season here at the Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway Sunday evening. The victory was Shelliams second overall victory of the season.Terry Neal was second,Luke Goedert third,Jimmy Brokus fourth, with Joel Callahan fifth.Next sunday night August 29th will be season championship night for the IMCA late models. This will be the only division having their championship on the 29th. In the IMCA type modified feature Ron Barker got the 37b back into winning ways as he passed leader Bobby Moyer on lap six then lead the remaining fourteen laps for his ninth feature victory of the 2011 campaign.The veteran from dubuque,was followed across the line by Matt Christ in second,Bobby Moyer in third,Tony VonDresky fourth,with Jason Schueller fifth. In the SPI Stock Car division Timmy Current as we all know has had a remarkable season.Hes had a good week this week as well.He won wednesday night at Lancaster,won last night at Maquoketa,and lead flag to flag here to night at dubuque giving him three wins for the week and twenty seven total for the season.Jerry Miles who finished second has eight wins on the year,and Wayne Hora who was third has nine wins both having very good years behind Current.Terry Rittmer was fourth with K.C.Ansel fifth. In the IMCA type Hobby Stock division we had a driver win for the first time,and by golly he did the sweep heat and feature.Rob Clifton jumped out front and lead the twelve lapper from flag to flag.Another driver ladies and gentleman is in our thoughts and prayers tonight as thursday of this week Corey Cullen driver of the 58 hobby stock will undergo surgery for a brain tumor this week Corey started on the pole of the feature,dropped to the rear,then afterwards did a victory lap with a checkerd flag in hand.We send our heartfelt prayers to Corey and his family.Brandon Beschen finished second,Jeremy Campbell third,Nick Widemeier fourth with Rod Chapman fifth. Looking like a veteran out there young fifteen year Brennan Chipp from waterloo,iowa spun early in the race came from the rear and came back and won his first twelve lap IMCA type sport mod feature of the season here at the speedway.Hope Schmerebach was second,Matt Miller third,Kyle Hoffman fourth,with Lee Kinsella fifth. In the IMCA type Sport Compacts Pat Quinn lead the ten lapper from flag to flag for his seventh victory of the season.JordanTortensen was second,Eric McDonough was third,Jason Roth fourth,with Josh Neal fifth
