Ray Raker, Danville took the checkered flag in the hobby stock feature but the track hobby stock points championship would go to Jake Wenig, Burlington.

Although the season points championships have been completed there is still some exciting events coming up at the 3/8 mile. This Friday and Saturday, Sept. 2 and 3rd will be the Pepsi Late Model Nationals with $10,000 going to the winner of the 99 lap feature on the second night of the two day show.   The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders will return on Saturday, Sept. 10 for their season championship and the season will cap off big when the 410 sprints return. It went down to the final point race of the 2011 season for the  J & J Steel/Ideal Ready Mix IMCA Late Models. The the top six point leaders coming in to the nights racing included Matt Bailey with 315, Joey Gower, Matt Strassheim and Woodworth each with 314,  Lonnie Bailey with 312 and Keith Pratt with 311. Features were lined up according to points putting  Denny Woodworth and Joey Gower on the front row following heat race action. Woodworth earned the pole in the feature race with a  first place  heat finish taking the point lead from Matt Bailey who finished fourth in his heat. Woodworth would take the early lead and would lead the thirteen car field the entire twenty five laps getting his first 34 Raceway win this season. Joey Gower would follow in second and Strassheim would take third.

Jayson Ditsworth held a eleven point lead to start the evening putting Ditsworth on the front row of the eighteen car W.T.Gabeline and Sons Trucking 305 Sprint feature. Ditsworth and Andy Huston would exchange leads before Ditsworth would take the lead for good on lap eight of the twenty lapper. With five laps to go Ryan Jamison challenged Ditsworth for the lead racing side by side.  Ditsworth was able to hold on and pull away at the end for the win, his fourth this season as well as a Track Championship by fourteen points ahead of Andy Huston.

Jeff Mueller hold off a fierce challenge from Ryan Cook to win his sixth Mikes Auto Parts IMCA Stock Car feature for 2011 as well as the stock car track championship. Mueller and Cook put on a show for the fans with side by side, bumper to bumper action for several laps before finally being  able to shake Cook late in the race. Mueller went on to take the checkered flag with room to spare as well as earning the stock car track championship. Mueller ended the season with 464 points. John Oliver, Jr. followed with 436.

Brandon Rothzen got his first 34 Raceway Modified track championship as well as winning the Miller Lite IMCA Modified twenty lap feature. Rothzen held a ten point lead going into the nights racing over Scott Hogan. The two put on a show for the first eleven laps exchanging leads several times. But tough luck for Hogan came when a puff of smoke emerged from his car and he had to call it a night. With Rothzen still in the lead the fans had their eyes on the battle for 2nd between Dennis LaVeine and Dean McGee. As Rothzen and Hogan did, these two were also racing side by side, exchanging positions several times. As Rothzen took the checkered flag, LaVeine would get by McGee on the final lap to finish second. Rothzen would also get the track championship title  with 430 points , fifteen points ahead of McGee. Hoganl would finish third in the point race with 410.

Winning the Pepsi Hobby Stock feature this week would pay $ 400 Courtesy of Service Master Clean, Tanner Thomann, 3D Roofing and Ray Raker, family, sponsors and friends.  And getting the win was Ray Raker. Raker took the lead from Jake Wenig on lap six following a caution. He would then have to work to hold off Wenig for the next six laps as they raced bumper to bumper before finally being able to pull away at the end for   his second win this season at 34. But the win wouldnt give Raker enough points to catch Wenig in the point battle who would win the 2011 hobby stock track championship with 368 points.
