WEST LIBERTY, IA (August 29) - It was Casey General Stores Season Championship Night here at the West Liberty Raceway Saturday night and in the I-Wireless IMCA late model 35 lap feature Andy Eckrich was a man on a mission as the current Deery Brothers IMCA points leader grabbed the lead and never looked back as he won the feature and clinched his second track championship in two nights. Brother Denny Eckrich finished a strong second, Kevin Kile third, Colby Springsteen fourth, with Mike Klinkhammer placing fifth. In the SPI Modified division Chris Zoggmotored into the lead on the second lap,then lead the remaining eighteen laps in fine fashion enroute to his second victory of the season.Scott Dickey was second,Kurt Kile third,Bruce Hanford fourth,with Ryan Dolan your 2011 modified track champion finishing fifth. In the Kile Motorsports Stock Car division Matt Greiner and Jake Gustaf battled together for several lps before Greiner moved ahead for the lead, then lead the remaining few laps for his ninth feature win of the season.Rod Staats was second,Cole Simmons third, Jake Gustaf fourth.with Cody Harris fifth.David Brandies is the 2011 Champion in the Kile Motorsports Stock Car Division, In the Spenler Tire IMCA type Modified division young Dakota Hayden passed Andrew Burke on the fourth lap then lead the remaining eight laps for the twelve lap victory.The fourth year driver,second in a modified,scored his second victory of the season with the win. Mark Schulte who finished second notched his second IMCA Modified track championship in two nights,Todd Hansen was third, Larry Herring fourth.with Andrew Burke fifth. In the US6 Body Works IMCA Sport Compact ten lap feature Brad Chandler in a borrowed car passed teamate Bryce Bailey on lap six and motored on for the ten lap victory. Bailey finished second, brother Nathan Chandler the 2011 IMCA Sport Compact track champion third, Bill Whalen fourth, with Mike Morrow fifth.The weekly racing has ended here at the west liberty raceway for 2011.The next program will be the Liberty 100 Friday and Saturday October 7 and 8..
