Capital City Clash Ready To Go
by: Larry Lowrey

Topeka, KS - The 2006 Dirt Track season at Heartland Park Topeka will come to a close on Wednesday night. Not before going out with a big BANG!

Drivers, fans and more are set for the Capital City Clash. A $2,000 to win modified race with a special invite race for the Factory & Hobby Stock divisions.

Joining the modified field will be 3 NEXTEL Cup drivers, Clint Bowyer, Kenny Schrader and Kenny Wallace.

Bowyer will be returning to the track where he took home a track championship in 2002. The Emporia native will be looking forward to his return home. It will also mark the debut of his new Skyrocket modified.

Schrader is one of the more popular drivers on the circuit. Racing anytime that he can climb into a car, Schrader has been around for a long time. He knows the excitement of racing on dirt and loves every chance he can get to race.

Unlike the other two racers, Kenny Wallace didn't spend a lot of time on the dirt tracks early in his career. He is making up for lost time. In the last couple of years, Wallace has put together a strong schedule of dirt races to compliment his 'day' job.

While $2,000 is up for grabs, look for some of the top modified drivers in the Midwest to be competing on Wednesday night. Several modifieds have expressed interest in racing...

The support classes will also provide a ton of excitement to fill out the card. Make plans to see this one.

Adult admission is $15, kids 13 to 6 are $10 and kids 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $25 for adults and kids 12 and under are $10.

Pit Gates open at 4:00 p.m., Grandstands opens at 5:00 p.m., Hot laps will get started at 6:15 p.m. and racing goes green at 7:30 p.m.
