Boney Ready To Get Back To Racing

SILVER LAKE, KS (MAR 15) - Justin Boney is ready to get back to racing. For the last 2 weeks it has been non-stop work getting his new GRT by Phillips back into racing shape.

Two weeks ago, at the Pro Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championship, Boney put the new car in the wall hard after a part broke on the car. It was a tough break considering he was looking at a 2nd place finish. The damage didn't look good. Where there is a will there is always a way.

Upon arriving home with the car and getting everything off of it, Justin and Doug Richards headed off to Arkansas to get the car fixed. In no-time-flat the modified was back home looking better than before. After a hard week of putting everything back on the car, it's ready to go 110%, and so is the driver.

"I think we got the car back together exactly the way we had it when we picked it up, " said Boney, "I even think it might be a little better now. I have high expectations. This is a good car. We got just as good of shot at winning as everyone else does this weekend."
This weekend the USMTS comes into Kansas for a doubleheader, Saturday at Humboldt Speedway and Sunday at Thunderhill Speedway. These are two tracks that Justin likes to race at.

"Thunderhill is a lot of fun to race at, " said Boney, "If I had to choose which one I liked better, I would say Thunderhill Speedway. It's a real racy track. You have a lot of room to do things, where on a smaller track you don't and it tends to get one lane a lot easier. The fans get a better show at a place like that, I think."

With two days of racing at two different tracks, Boney is looking forward to racing on a more frequent basis.

"We were just talking about that last night. We were just learning what to do with the new car and coming back from Texas we thought we could come home and expect to keep racing, but Mother Nature had a different thought and it's hard to get excited about going racing with weather like that," said Boney.

The big question remains this weekend, will the races get in? Rain is in the forecast for Friday night and early Saturday morning. Temperatures that hover in the 40s will not make for great race conditions. Humboldt Speedway workers have been working tirelessly to make sure they do everything they can do get the race in. Nobody has a say in what Mother Nature wants to do.

Next up for Justin Boney and T & T Racing will be the rescheduled USMTS race at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Colorado.
