Sherman County Speedway ready for 2011 season

GOODLAND, KS (March 24, 2011) - Sherman County Speedway in Goodland, KS, has released their 2011 schedule, which begins the weekend of April 16-17. Classes competing this year at Goodland include IMCA-sanctioned Modifieds, Stock Cars, Northern Sport Mods and Hobby Stocks, as well as Econos. Race time will be 6:30 unless otherwise noted. Race time will also be mountain time.

The Spring Fest will take place on Sunday, April 17, with a 3:00 start time. A test & tune will take place the day before on Saturday, April 16.

On Saturday, May 7, the 1200 CC Wingless Mini Sprints will also be on the card. It will also be Mother’s Night with half price grandstand admission to the first 50 mothers.

Veterans Night will be observed on Saturday, May 21. All veterans will be admitted free to the grandstand with a military ID.

Saturday, June 11, will be Fan Appreciation Night.

On Saturday, June 18, it will be Father’s Night, with half price grandstand admission to the first 50 fathers.

Merchants Night will be on Saturday, July 9.

Saturday, July 16, will be Ice Cream Night.

Saturday, August 20, will be the Bill Gray Memorial Race. It will also be Kids Night with kids receiving glow sticks and pop while supplies last.

Saturday, September 3, will be Girl Scout and Boy Scout Night. All girl and boy scouts will be admitted free with a paid adult, and they must wear their uniform top.

The season will conclude with the 22nd Annual Flatlander Fall Festival on Friday & Saturday, September 22-23. Race time will be 5:30 on Friday and 4:30 on Saturday. Sunday, September 25, will be the rain date.
