DOUG AULD TO CHAIR FIRST MEETING AS BOARD PRESIDENT OF
NATIONAL SPRINT CAR MUSEUM ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7

KNOXVILLE, IA. (Sept. 19, 2006) - Doug Auld of Piqua, Ohio, who was elected president of the board of directors of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum Foundation last month, will chair his first meeting on Saturday, October 7, in Knoxville. Steve Agan of Knoxville, who was president in 2005-2006, is now immediate past president of the 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation. The quarterly board meeting will take place on Saturday morning on the second floor of the museum, prior to the World of Outlaws (WoO) show that evening at Knoxville Raceway.

Jack Housby of Des Moines is the vice-president, while Mike Brooks of Knoxville is secretary/treasurer. Jim Jones of Knoxville and Louis Long of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, were elected to four-year terms on the 9-member board during the Knoxville Nationals. Continuing their terms on the board are Grant Rankin of Bussey, Dick Woodland of Paso Robles, California, and Roger Johnson of Memphis, Tennessee. The board, staff and membership of the museum would also like to thank Jim Banks of Topeka, Kansas, and Larry Smith of Des Moines for their years of service.

Elected to two-year terms on the 21-member advisory board of directors were Iowans Mike Husted, Andy Clark, Brian Stickel, Duane Davis and Al Cole, and Allan Brown of Michigan, Tony Ross of Missouri, Pat Sullivan of Indiana, Lynn Paxton of Pennsylvania, and Larry Janicsek of Wisconsin. Continuing their terms on the advisory board are Iowans Bob Maxwell, Larry Storey, Art Worral, Bob Dyer and Mike Richardson, and Ken Clapp of California, Joe Harz of New Jersey, Dick Carbery of New York, Chuck Fawcett of California, Steve Beitler of Washington, and Tom Hall of New York. The board, staff and membership would like to acknowledge Bruce Neimeth of Iowa, Paul Arch of Pennsylvania, Kevin Schneider of Iowa, and Chuck Kopache of Iowa for their efforts over the years on behalf of the sports museum.
