NEW ZEALAND SPRINT CAR CHAMPIONSHIP ON JANUARY 5 AT BAYPARK
IS NEXT KNOXVILLE WORLD CHALLENGE QUALIFIER


KNOXVILLE, IOWA (January 2, 2008) - This weekend’s $10,000-to-win New Zealand Sprint Car Championship at the Blue Chip Speedway at Baypark Stadium in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand, is the next Knoxville World Challenge international qualifier. The Friday-Saturday event has over fifty sprint car stars and cars entered, including Americans Craig Dollansky and Ricky Logan, and previous titlists Allan Wakeling, Kerry Jones, Ben Finemore and Jamie McDonald. Additionally, at last week’s Western Springs Speedway qualifier, Americans Joey Saldana and Jason Statler became eligible for the August 8, 2008, $10,000-to-win World Challenge during the Super Clean Knoxville Nationals, presented by Factory Value Parts.

The two New Zealand dates follow those international qualifiers already held at the Ohsweken (Ontario) Speedway and the Castrol Raceway (Edmonton, Alberta), and they precede the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic (GASC) finale on January 26-27, 2008, at the Premier Speedway at Sungold Stadium in Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia. As a result of the two Canadian and first New Zealand qualifiers, those already inversion-eligible for the fifteenth annual Knoxville World Challenge on Friday, August 8, 2008, at Knoxville Raceway are:

CAN: Casey Adams, Cody Adams, Austin Boychuk, Fred Cade, Jamie Collard, Jesse Dakus, Keith Dempster, Marc Duperron, Wade Fleming, Tim Gee, Jeff Hodgson, Tom Huppunen, Gord Kynoch, Drew McDonell, Brad Milne, Sean Moran, Kyle Patrick, Rob Pietz, Travis Rutz, Chris Schmelzle, Todd Sparks.
