KNOXVILLE BUSINESS COMMUNITY TO SUPPORT RACEWAY WITH SECOND ANNUAL “WEEKEND OF WHEELS” ON SATURDAY, APRIL 19

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (April 8) - The Knoxville business community will support its legendary dirt track with the second annual “Weekend of Wheels” car and motorcycle show on the historic downtown square on Saturday, April 19. The free-to-the-public show will feature street rods, custom cars, motorcycles, ATV’s, go-karts, stock cars, and sprint cars and stars. The Journal-Express-sponsored show, 12 Noon until 4 p.m., is timed to coincide with the half-mile sprint car track’s 55th annual season opener later that night.

According to chamber staff member Teresa Rowley, “The entire Knoxville business community is very proud of what the Marion County Fair board and the Knoxville Raceway staff have done over the years to make our half-mile dirt track the finest in the world. We will be hosting food and equipment vendors on the downtown square, with live musical entertainment by Allan Robuck TCB. And fifteen sprint car drivers will be on-hand from Noon until 2 p.m., along with four go-karters from the English Creek Speedway. We will also have a play area for children, and motorcycle stunt riders will be performing on Third Street.”

Those seeking more information on the second “Weekend of Wheels” are urged to call Teresa Rowley at 641-828-7555. The rain date for this event is Saturday, May 3.
