INTERNATIONAL 360 SPRINT CAR FORUM SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 3

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (July 14, 2008) - The seventh annual International 360 Sprint Car Forum will be hosted by the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville on Sunday afternoon, August 3. The forum, which is open to track promoters and sanctioning officials involved in winged 360-cubic-inch sprint car racing, will feature a general discussion of the major challenges facing the sport today.

Knoxville’s director of racing Ralph Capitani said today, “It really is important for the leadership of the sport of ‘360’ sprint car racing to get together annually to discuss these administrative and technical issues in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and there seems to be no better time nor place than during early August at the ‘Sprint Car Capital of the World’. According to Jim Harris of the National Sprint Car Annual last week, there are currently over 1600 competitors in ‘360’ racing, compared to over 600 in ‘410’ racing, over 500 in ‘305’ racing, and nearly 800 involved in non-winged sprint car racing. Clearly, winged 360 c.i. sprint car racing is growing in the United States, Canada, and Australia right now.”

The International 360 Sprint Car Forum, which will be held in the conference center on the second floor of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum from 12 Noon until 2:30 p.m., is timed to occur on the afternoon of the tenth annual Brodix 360 Tournament of Champions (ToC) at Knoxville Raceway. The Brodix ToC follows the three-day Arnold Motor Supply Knoxville 360 Nationals, presented by Vermeer Manufacturing, on July 31-August-1-2. Those promoters and sanctioning officials wishing to attend this year’s International 360 Sprint Car Forum on Sunday, August 3, are urged to e-mail forum organizers at intl360forum@yahoo.com.
