Those four sanctions not sending representatives this year to the Brodix Tournament of Champions, which utilizes a common set or technical rules including use of the Brodix ASCS spec head, include the ASCS Gulf South Region, Empire Super Sprints (ESS), Northern Lights Dirt Series (NLDS) and the United Sprint Car Series (USCS) Southern Thunder tour.

Five entrants were ineligible to receive official invitations as the drivers didn’t compete in enough of their sanctions’ races by the end of July 23rd. Those drivers that will get their entry fees refunded are Glenn Borden, Russ Hall, J.J. Hickle, Kevin Ingle, and Danny Martin, Jr.

The format for the Sunday show will include group time trials, six inverted heats, three B-Mains, and the 30-lap, 30-car, $5,000-to-win, $375-to-start Brodix Tournament of Champions. Eighteen drivers will advance to the “A” from the heats, and two drivers will do the same from each “B”. Six affiliate provisionals will complete the 30-car Tournament field, with preference given to the point leaders from those sanctions that don’t have any representation in the feature after the qualifying events.

Tournament team points will be awarded on a basis of 30 points to the winner, with a one-point drop per position. The sanctioning affiliate accumulating the most points will be declared the Brodix Tournament Team Champion. Emmett Hahn’s American Sprint Cars on Tour (ASCoT) affiliate is the defending team champion, while Kaley Gharst of the Sprint Invaders Association (SIA) is the defending driver champion.

Those seeking further information on the Brodix Tournament of Champions, which will be available for the first time ever on live pay-per-view internet stream by www.racenetwork.tv
