SEPTEMBER A BUSY MONTH FOR NATIONAL SPRINT CAR MUSEUM

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (August 31, 2008) - September will be a busy month for the non-profit National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum (NSCHoF&M) Foundation, as it will be conducting fundraisers from California to Pennsylvania. Museum-benefit golf tournaments will be held in Paradise, Calif., and Mechanicsburg, Penna., in conjunction with Chico’s Gold Cup Race of Champions and the Williams Grove National Open, respectively. Memorabilia auctions will be held during the Williams Grove National Open and the Knoxville Late Model Nationals.

The Tom Rolfe Trucking & Northgate Rock Company Gold Cup NSCHoF Golf Classic will be held on Friday, September 5, at the Tuscan Ridge Golf Club in Paradise, California. This event, held in conjuction with the Chico Gold Cup Race of Champions at John Padjen’s Silver Dollar Speedway, will be held in honor of tournament founder Clyde Lamar, a long-time northern California car owner. The Zemco Speed Equipment & Penske Racing Shocks Kevin Gobrecht Memorial Golf Classic will be held on Thursday, September 25, at the Silver Spring Golf Club in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. This event will benefit the Kevin Gobrecht Memorial Fund and the National Sprint Car Benevolent Fund in memory of Kevin Gobrecht. Individuals and teams wishing to enter the tourney are encouraged to call the Silver Spring Golf Club at 717-766-0462. Kevin Gobrecht was the museum’s 1995 National Sprint Car Poll “Rookie of the Year”.

The Eastern Museum of Motor Racing (EMMR) & NSCHoF&M Auction will be held at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Penna., on Saturday, September 27, on the afternoon of the Morgan Hughes Memorial Williams Grove National Open. The live auction of unique autographed memorabilia and motorsports souvenirs will benefit both non-profit museums and it is free and open to the general public. The Knoxville Dirt Late Model Auction will be held on the second floor of the National Sprint Car Museum in Knoxville on Saturday, September 27, on the afternoon of the Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals. The free and open-to-the-public live auction will be emceed by former Benton County Speedway ‘Women on Wheels’ champion Kathy Krafka Harkema and it will be auctioneered by former dirt late model driver Lynn Richard and his staff from Richard Realty & Auction in Mount Pleasant. A portion of the net proceeds will benefit the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame in Florence, Kentucky. Those interested in donating items are encouraged to call the museum at 1-800-874-4488.
