AFTER NIGHT SIX, WAYNE JOHNSON HAS FIRM
LEAD IN COX DESIGN IOWA SPEEDWEEK POINTS


KNOXVILLE, IOWA (August 6, 2008) - Knoxville 360 Nationals champion Wayne Johnson, formerly of Oklahoma and now living in Iowa, has a firm lead in the Cox Design Iowa Speedweek points following nights five and six at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa. Johnson now leads Billy Alley and Tyler Walker by 39 and 40 points, respectively, as the “Mr. Sprint Car” title heads into the final four nights of the Super Clean Knoxville Nationals, presented by Lucas Oil. The top three positions in the Iowa Speedweek point standings after the ten straight nights of sprint car racing will receive $2,500, $1,000 and $500, respectively.

The unofficial top ten in the Cox Design Iowa Speedweek points are as follows: 1., Wayne Johnson, 229 points; 2., Billy Alley, 190 points; 3., Tyler Walker, 189 points; 4., Brian Brown, 175 points; 5., Jesse Hockett, 174 points; 6., Jason Johnson, 166 points; 7., Don Droud, Jr., 160 points; 8., Bronson Maeschon, 147 points; 9., Travis Rilat, 146 points; 10., Brooke Tatnell, 144 points.

Past “Mr. Sprint Car” titlists include Ricky Logan (2002) of Arkansas, Shane Stewart (2003, ’04) of Oklahoma, Billy Alley (2005) of Nebraska, Jason Johnson (2006) of Louisiana, and Wayne Johnson (2007) of Oklahoma.
