Knoxville Raceway Ticket Sales to Benefit Ames and Colfax through the American Red Cross

KNOXVILLE, Iowa (August 24, 2010) - The Marion County Fair Association announced today that a portion of ticket sales from the Lucas Oil Knoxville Championship Cup Series event on August 28th will be donated to the American Red Cross to assist with the flooding issues in and around Ames and Colfax.  

“For each adult general admission ticket sold we will donate $3.” Stated Board President Terry Harvey. “We have a lot of fans from that area and we want to do everything we can to get their communities back to normal.” 

Amp Energy Drink will also be donating $1 for each can of Amp sold that evening through the Knoxville Raceway concession stands.  

“Ames, Iowa State University and the Iowa State Cyclones are great treasures here in the state of Iowa and the Knoxville Raceway is honored to be able to send some assistance their way.” Said Brian Stickel, Knoxville’s Director of Marketing.” 

This Saturday is McKay Allied Insurance Night at the Races and adult tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for teens 13-18 and $4 for kids 6-12. 5 and under are free. Hot laps begin at 6:45 PM with racing starting around 7:30.
