NATIONAL SPRINT CAR HALL OF FAME AGAIN PARTNERS WITH
NATIONAL DIRT LATE MODEL HALL OF FAME AT LUCAS OIL LATE MODEL KNOXVILLE NATIONALS

KNOXVILLE, IOWA  (September 10, 2010)  -  Once a year, the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Iowa, partners with the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame in Florence, Kentucky, and for 2010, it will occur on September 30-October 1-2 during the seventh annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.  This year, the National Sprint Car Museum will increase its number of offerings for dirt late model stock car fans that week with its line-up of stock car-related films in the theater, “OctobeerFast” wine- and beer-tasting reception, “Stocksville Reunion” of past Knoxville Raceway late model stock car winners, “Preserving Late Model Stock Car Racing History in the Upper Midwest” forum, and silent and live memorabilia auctions.

According to National Sprint Car Museum curator Tom Schmeh, “This three-day event has relatively quickly become Knoxville Raceway’s second biggest show of the year, following its Knoxville Nationals for winged 410-cubic-inch sprint cars.  We have partnered with Bill Holder, Bob Markos and the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame from day one with our auction, with them receiving a portion of the proceeds, but this year we wanted to step up our other events.  1977 Knoxville Fall Jamboree winner Curt Hansen of Dike, Iowa, is the first driver to confirm his participation in our inaugural ‘Stocksville Reunion’ event, while the Peace Tree Brewing Company of Knoxville and the Corning Winery have signed on for our ‘OctobeerFast’ celebration.  And historians Lee Ackerman, Barry Johnson and Mike O’Connor have agreed to be panelists on our “Preserving Late Model Stock Car Racing History in the Upper Midwest” forum.  Combined with our silent auctions on Thursday and Friday, and our annual live auction on Saturday led by auctioneer Lynn Richard and emcee Kathy Krafka Harkema, I think we will truly be offering something for everyone!”
