2005 & '09 "DRIVER OF THE YEAR" LEVI JONES ENTERS NON-WINGED KNOXVILLE NATIONALS

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (February 25, 2011) - 2005 and '09 North American Non-Winged Sprint Car Poll "Driver of the Year" Levi Jones of Olney, Illinois, has become the first official entrant for the $5,000-to-win United States Auto Club (USAC) sanctioned Non-Winged Knoxville Nationals.  The 26-car, 26-lap event, a points-paying round of both the USAC Amsoil National Sprint Car Series and the Cox Design Iowa Speed Week, will take place at the legendary Knoxville Raceway half-mile dirt track on Sunday, August 7.

Jones, currently second in USAC points after three races in Florida this month, will wheel the Chevrolet-powered, Bass Pro Shop-sponsored sprint car out of the Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) stables.  March 15 is the first 'early bird' pre-entry deadline for the Knoxville event, whereby racers can save money by filing their intentions with the track early.  Native Californians Bryan Clauson (one) and Damion Gardner (two) won the three USAC feature races this month at the Ocala, Florida speedway, while fellow Californian Brandon "Bud" Kaeding is the defending Non-Winged Knoxville Nationals champion.
