All Systems "Go!" for 10th Annual Cox Design & Metal Fabrication Iowa Speed Week
by Brian Stickel

KNOXVILLE, IOWA  (June 15, 2011)  - According to Terry McCarl, a promoter for McTwo Promotions and the 2009 "Mr. Sprint Car," and Knoxville Raceway marketing director Brian Stickel, all systems are "Go!" for the tenth annual Cox Design & Metal Fabrication Iowa Speed Week, which will take place August 4-13 at the big half-mile dirt tracks in Knoxville and Oskaloosa. National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee Sammy Swindell is the defending Jesse Hockett "Mr. Sprint Car" titlist, the honor annually bestowed upon the point champion of the 12 points-paying sprint car features in ten days.

The tenth annual Cox Design & Metal Fabrication Iowa Speed Week kicks off on August 4-6 at the Knoxville Raceway with the 21st annual Arnold Motor Supply '360' Knoxville Nationals presented by Windstream. The Casey's General Stores-sponsored winged 410-cubic-inch sprint car feature on Saturday, August 6, will also be a points-paying round in the ten-night series. On Sunday, August 7, Knoxville Raceway will then host the second annual Non-Winged Knoxville Nationals for the traditional sprint cars of the United States Auto Club (USAC).  The winged 305-cubic-inch sprint car feature that night will also be a points-paying round in 2011.

Action then turns to the McTwo Promotions-promoted half-mile dirt oval in nearby Oskaloosa, known as the Southern Iowa Speedway, for the August 8-9 Osky Challenges. The Monday night 16th annual Musco Lighting Front Row Challenge presented by Casey's General Stores is sanctioned by the '410' All Star Circuit of Champions (ASCoC). The Tuesday night tenth annual Casey's General Stores Ultimate Challenge presented by Don Long's Searsboro Telephone Company for traditional non-winged sprinters is sanctioned by USAC.

Knoxville Raceway takes center stage August 10-13 with the 51st annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals, which is the national championship for winged 410-cubic-inch sprint car teams. This year, the World of Outlaws (WoO) returns as the sanctioning body for the sport's richest and most prestigious race. Qualifying nights are Wednesday, August 10, sponsored by www.RacingJunk.com, and Thursday, August 11, sponsored by Lucas Oil, with the 18th annual Premier Chevy Dealers Knoxville World Challenge invitational race for the best drivers from Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States on Friday, August 12.  The 'Granddaddy of Them All', the 51st annual Knoxville Nationals, takes place on Saturday, August 13.
