By Jake Croxton

DONNELLSON, Iowa (May 6, 2008) – A full night of stock car racing is on tap at Lee County Speedway on Friday, May 9, as Casey’s General Store presents Fan Appreciation Night. Coupons are available at participating Casey’s General Stores, mostly within a 30-mile radius of the speedway, for $5 Adult general admission.

The IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing program begins the point average season for the Miller Lite IMCA Modifieds, Budweiser IMCA Stock Cars, unsanctioned Donnellson Tire Hobby Stocks, Lawson Racing Engines & Parts Supply SportMods, and Shottenkirk Parts Express Wild Things.

Several drivers turned in great opening night performances on May 2, as Dean McGee earned his first-career Miller Lite IMCA Modified victory at LCS.
The 38-year racing veteran slipped by Tyler Cale on a lap 17 restart.

Jason Cook returned to familiar territory as the former Budweiser IMCA Stock Car track champion stole potential first-time thunder from second-year driver Nick Fenton. Defending track champion Jeff Mueller finished in the runner-up position. Dean Kratzer (Hobby Stock), Chad Sovern (SportMod), and Rob Hammel (Wild Thing) also earned opening night trips to victory lane.

Friday, May 16, is shaping up to be a full night of action as the Ideal Ready Mix IMCA Late Models will battle for an $800 payday in their rescheduled Pepsi-sponsored draw/redraw event from April 25. All five weekly classes will accompany the Late Models on the card. Green Bay Motors and Harvest Moon Quilt Co.
will present the weekly classes. One lucky fan from age 5-17 will walk out of the Lee County Speedway with a Nintendo Wii gaming system.
