Bounty still on for Donnellson Tire Hobby Stocks Friday Night
By Jake Croxton

DONNELLSON, IA (June 19) – The Pilot Grove Savings Bank Mid-Season Championships are on the horizon at the Lee County Speedway and so is the carried-over $400 bounty on Dean Kratzer.

As Mother Nature continues to torture residents along the Mississippi River, racing will go on as scheduled – including all special events that were planned a week ago. The Donnellson Tire Hobby Stock competitors will vie for a $625 winner’s share if they can ward off Dean Kratzer’s drive for six feature wins in a row. Kratzer must finish the race for the bounty to be collected.

Shelly Keltner has added purse money to the Shottenkirk Parts Express Wild Thing feature event, including a $200 winner’s purse. Two $25 mystery spots will be drawn at the conclusion of the 12-lapper. Rob Hammel currently leads the standings over Brent Hartley.

The top 6 qualifiers in the Budweiser IMCA Stock Car Heat Races will participate in the Performance Bodies Dash Series. This time, the Dash event will take the form of an Australian Pursuit with a $50 product certificate going to the winner, $25 for second, and a LCS pit pass for third.

Also on the card will be the Miller Lite IMCA Modifieds and the Lawson Racing Engines & Parts Supply SportMods. The IMCA Modifieds are quietly having one of the closest points battles in LCS history. Bill Roberts, Dean McGee, and Josh Foster are tied for the points lead only one-point ahead of Tyler Cale. Jim Gillenwater leads Joe Hooper by 10-points in the SportMods.

All gates open at 5:30 for the 5-class show. Hot laps are scheduled for 7pm with racing to follow at 7:30. Grandstand general admission $8 for Adults, $7 for Seniors, $5 for Students 11-17, and Free for Kids 10 and under. Pit passes are $20.
