Nevada Speedway Up Next for the Lucas Oil MLRA Saturday, May 15th

BUCKNER, MO (May 12, 2010) - After a nearly month long layoff, the Star and Cars of the Lucas Oil MLRA are amped up and ready for action with three weekends in a row of non-stop high octane Dirt Late Model Racing Action. The next stop on the 2010 tour is the Nevada Speedway in Nevada, Missouri which now under the direction of new owners Shawn and Tracey Hendren. The Hendrens recently purchased the Nevada Speedway and have already made significant improvements not only to the facility but also to the racing surface as the track has been very good the last few weeks. A-Modifieds and Street Stocks will also take to the Nevada Speedway as support classes for the MLRA Spring Shootout.

6-Time and defending Lucas Oil MLRA Champion Al Purkey will lead the MLRA brigade into action as he continues his impressive start to the 2010 season in his new Hatfield Powered Larry Shaw Race Car. Purkey won the most recent Lucas Oil MLRA event held on April 10th at Lucas Oil Speedway for his first ever win at the picturesque facility in Wheatland, Missouri. Republic, Missouri's Brad Looney occupies the second spot in points just 10 points behind Purkey, while Springfield's Terry Phillips sits in third, 16 points out of the top spot.

The 2008 MLRA Champion, John Anderson holds down the fourth spot in points after having won the Season Opener at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska on April 3rd. Mount Vernon, Iowa's Chad Simpson rounds out the Top-5 with 121 points to Purkeys 141. With two (2) MLRA provisionals on the line for the 18th Annual DART Show-Me 100, the next three races are pivotal as the drivers jockey for the top spots in the MLRA points standings.

Grandstand gates are set to open at 5:30pm with Hot Laps scheduled to start at 7:00 with racing at 7:30. Adult Admission is just $20 for upper level reserved seats and $15 for Adult General Admission tickets. Juniors (6-11) are just $4. Race fans 5-years of age and younger are admitted FREE to the speedway. Pit Passes are set at $25.

The Nevada Speedway is located just off US Highway 71. Take the Camp Clark Exit, Go West to 1st Stop Light, Turn South on Barrett, Go 1/2 mile to Main Gate. The Lucas Oil MLRA heads to Sedalia's State Fair Speedway next Friday, May 21st followed by the New Thunderhill Speedway on May 22nd. The biggest of the event of the Season takes place on May 28th-29th as the Lucas Oil MLRA heads to Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri for the 18th Annual DART Show-Me 100 Presented by Lucas Oil Products. The MLRA has traditionally been a part of the Diamond Nationals on Mother's Day Weekend but the 2010 season will have the MLRA at both the $30,000 to Win Show-Me 100 on Memorial Day Weekend for the first time and the $10,000 to win CMH Diamond Nationals on July 17th.
