Missouri State Fair Championships this Sunday at Sedalia's State Fair Speedway!

BUCKNER, MO (August 19, 2010) - The Lucas Oil MLRA is back in action this weekend as the Annual Missouri State Fair Championships take place this Sunday evening, August 22nd at Sedalia's State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Missouri. The Winged Outlaw Warriors 360 Sprint Cars will also be racing as a large contingent of the region's best Dirt Late Model and Sprint Car drivers are expected to be in attendance shooting for the coveted Missouri State Fair Championship at the historic 1/2 mile.

Spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 5:30 and racing at 6. General admission for Sunday is $18, Senior Citizens (65+) and Military w/I.D. $15, Kids (6-12): $8, Kids 5 and under are free. Republic, Missouri's Brad Looney has led the Lucas Oil MLRA point standings for a large part of 2010 but after suffering mechanical trouble at last weekend's King of the Hill Shootout in McCool Junction, Nebraska, Coffeyville, Kansas' Al Purkey has regained the top spot in the season long points battle. Looney has slipped all the way back to third, 42 points behind the leader. Oxford, Iowa's Dave Eckrich has leap frogged Looney to take over the second spot just 20 points behind Purkey. Springfield, Missouri's Terry Phillips has slipped back to the fourth spot in points with Omaha, Nebraska veteran Joe Kosiski rounding out the Top-5.

Phillip's teammate Jeremy Payne sits in sixth with 2010 Rookie of the Year candidate Evan Hubert out of Cross Timbers, Missouri holding down the seventh spot after also suffering mechanical trouble last weekend in McCool Junction. Henderson, Colorado's Kelly Boen rides in eighth spot 2008 Lucas Oil MLRA Champion John Anderson in ninth. Massena, Iowa's Chris Speiker rounds out the Top-10 in points.
