Marshalltown hosts Havoc On The High Banks Sept. 17-18

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Sept. 14) – Feature events for IMCA Modifieds both pay $1,250 to win in the Arizona Racing Engines and Performance Parts Havoc On The High Banks special at Marshalltown Speedway Friday and Saturday, Sept. 17-18.

Both Modified races are part of the JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour and are qualifying events for the 2011 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. A minimum of $150 will be paid to start.

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet North­ern SportMods race for $500 to win each night. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks chase $300 top checks win both nights. IMCA national, regional and Allstate Performance State points will be awarded each evening.

Pit passes will be $25. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under.

Gates open at 4:30 p.m. both days and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.

While neither has managed a feature win on the tour yet, Mike Jergens and Rich Smith are 1-2 in the point standings heading into this weekend. Josh Foster and Richie Gustin Jr. have each won twice, while Jeff Waterman, Darin Duffy and, most recently, Jeremy Mills have each visited victory lane on a single occasion.

The inaugural series concludes with a $1,500 to win event Saturday, Sept. 25 at 34 Raceway in West Burlington.
