MARSHALLTOWN, IOWA (April 11, 2011) - Mother Nature put her blessing on the Marshalltown Speedway for Ryan Ashton Racing Season Opener.  Thursday night rains opened up to Friday night excitement as 134 racers took to the famed “High Banks”.

First feature of the night was the O'Reilly Auto Parts Mod Lites 15 lap feature. Mike Morrill started on the pole for the feature and took full advantage of it, as he would jump to the early race lead. After the field completed 1 lap John Gardner would spin in turn 2 but Morrill would not let it faze him.  The only thing that would slow Morrill was the lap traffic. Morrill would go on to the victory. Andy Hennigar finished 2nd, Colby Oberemebt 3rd, Randy Bryan 4th and Joel Huggins 5th.

Big 8 Tyre Center IMCA Sport Mods took to the race track for their 15 laps Feature. Brad Iverson took advantage of his pole position and took the lead. Iverson started to pull away but would see the first race caution on lap 6 for debris on the front stretch. Iverson resumed command out front, but another caution came out on lap 12 for debris.  This bunched the field and put the Young Guns of Cayden Carter and Tyler Droste right behind him. Iverson then battled with Carter for the top spot and raced be side-by-side for the lead. Carter would make the pass on the last lap and take the win with Iverson in 2nd. Tyler Droste, Jared Timmerman and Andy Tiernan rounded out the top 5.

In the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel IMCA Modifieds 20 lap feature it was Mike Wendelstadt from Octonto Falls, Wisconsin taking early command but had Jon Snyder right there every lap. The first race caution came out on lap 4 for Josh Most and Andrew Kinser getting together in turn 2. Wendelstadt and Snyder would continue to do battle only to see the caution come out on lap 6 for Jim Harris in turn 3 & 4. Wendelstadt and Snyder went back to battling for the lead but caution came out on lap 12 for debris on the track. Wendelstadt resumed command, but this time Snyder was able to race side-by-side for the lead and took it on lap 14. Just after Snyder took the lead a caution came out for Josh Most on the front stretch. Snyder would go on to the victory.  Finishing behind Snyder was Wendelstadt, Adam Larson, Ronn Lauritzen and David Brown.

The Mike's Hard Lemonade IMCA Stock Cars 18 lap feature saw Sean Johnson take control early and begin to check out. The first race caution on lap 3 for Michael Jeannette, Paul Shepherd, Dale Labette, Jeff Wollam and Rob Henry in turn 1 & 2. Johnson got a good restart so would Damon Murty. Murty  passed Johnson on lap 7. On lap 8 the caution came out for Kevin Rose slow down the fronstretch and then again on the restart being called back. When the race got restarted, it was Murty controlling the race and the only thing that slowed him was the final race caution on lap 15 for Tommy Thompson.  Murty took the win, Johnson was 2nd, Nathan Wood was 3rd, Trent Murphy was 4th and Todd Reitzler was 5th.

Final feature on the night was the IMCA Hobby Stocks 12 lap feature and this feature would go green-to-checkered caution free. Aaron Rudolph led the first 7 laps, but he was passed by Mark Fee on lap 8. Fee would go on to the win, Rudolph 2nd. Eric Larson, Richard Yaw III and Russell Damme were 3rd through 5th.
