Chalk another one up for Mother Nature
by: Matthew Grage

LANSING, MN, (June 13) - Chalk another one up for Mother Nature as Racing at Chateau Raceway at Lansing was the victim of all the recent rains and the flooding of the Cedar River which runs just outside the back straightaway of the track. The infield filled with water created "Lake Chateau" and although the water was off the track the water in the infield and off the end of turns one and two caused track officials to call off the nights racing.

The loss of racing was a minor inconvenience of the third largest flood in the history of the area. With several business and home owners dealing with much greater problems from Lansing on down through Austin the two two losses just don't compare, and with the water continuing downstream into Iowa causing more problems down towards Charles City and on along the Cedar River through out the weekend.

The track is looking forward to getting back on schedule next Friday Night at 7:30 and even though its not going to be as quick for others along the river they hope others can get there lives back on schedule just as quick as possible.
