Kanz Continues Winning Streak at "THE CREEK"

SPRING VALLEY, MN (August 20, 2011) - Erik Kanz jumped to the high side and into the lead on the opening lap of the Hinz Trucking USRA B-Modified feature event. Behind him the field stacked up as the jumbled up in turn two but everyone kept moving forward. Jake Timm moved into second as the caution flew on the completion of lap one. Kanz led on the restart with Timm and Scott Demmer racing for second. Brandon Hare sat in fourth early on. Timm kept close to Kanz up front as the two pulled slightly away from the field. Another caution flew on lap six with Kanz again leading. Jacob Bleess raced for the fourth spot as the caution flew again on lap seven. Kanz led with Timm in second. Demmer and Hare raced for the third spot with Bleess soundly in fifth. The top five ran this way to the end with Kanz picking up his second win in a row.

AJ Zvorak led from the drop of the green in the 331 bar and grill WISSOTA Street Stock feature event. bobby Kilby sat in second early with Danny Hanson quickly taking over the third spot. Troy Voth and Karl Hewitt Jr. raced for the fifth spot behind Mike Blowers in fourth. With three down Hanson worked outside of Kilby for the second spot leaving Kilby to defend off the advances of Blowers for the third spot. With five down Hanson and Zvorak were side by side for the lead as they started their battle for the win through the rest of the feature. Hanson pulled alongside again on lap seven but Zvorak kept the advantage out of the corners. Hewitt Jr., and Voth continued to race for fifth while Kilby sat soundly in third at this time. With two to go Blowers took over the third spot as Hanson again pulled alongside of Zvorak up front. Zvorak was too strong and took home the win.

Jesse Hernandez led out of turn two for the Dirt Doctor Trucking WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature event with Jason Born challenging early on. Greg Pfeifer Jr., and Harlan Morehart raced for third and Josh Crary sat in fifth. A caution with three down saw Hernandez leading and Born and Pfeifer Jr. racing for second. They closed in on the leader as Pfeifer Jr. and Hernandez made slight contact propelling Born into the lead. A look back into the field saw Dustin Scott in fifth after starting fifteenth on lap seven. A caution with nine down saw Scott move alongside of Born down the back straight to take over the lead followed by Hernandez. Bill Stettner and Pfeifer JR raced for fourth. Hernandez moved past Born on lap ten to take over second with another caution on lap twelve bunching the cars back up. On the restart Scott led with Born and Hernandez racing for second, Cody Gardner joined into the battle to make it a three car race Gardner took over second on lap fourteen as Jared Boumeester now raced with Born for the third spot. Boumeester took over third on lap seventeen as the white flew. Up front at the checkers it was all Scott followed by Gardner, Boumeester, Born and Stettner.

Jeff Brauer jumped out front of the US ARMY WISSOTA Super Stocks and that was all there was for a race up front. Behind Brauer though some strong battles took place with Tony Bloom, Chuck Nerland and Josh Bartel three wide for third behind Dave Solum. Bartel took over third on lap five while Kelly Anderson moved past Bloom for fourth. Eight down saw a caution with Brauer leading. Ryan Siegle who sat just outside the top five as the caution flew moved into second on the restart followed by Anderson. Bloom, Solum and Bartel were three wide for fourth with Nerland looking to join the battle. Solum held onto fourth with Bartel and Bloom racing for fifth as another caution flew on lap eleven. Brauer led with Siegle in second. Bloom challenged Anderson for third over the remaining circuits while Nerland sat in fifth as the checkers flew over the field.

Cory Mahder and Neil Eckhart battled into one for the lead on the opening lap of the Altenburg Construction WISSOTA Late Model feature event. Chad Mahder and Jordan Yaggy raced for third early. Chad Mahder took over second on lap three and then started to challenge Cory for the lead. Eckhart and Yaggy raced for third with Mike Sorensen in fifth. Chad quickly caught Cory with Cory changing lines trying to find a faster way around the speedway. It didn't help and Chad took over the lead on lap six. Sorensen and Yaggy now raced for third as Eckhart now raced with Mike Prochnow for fifth. Ten down Prochnow and Sorensen were side by side for fourth. Prochnow took the spot Chad Mahder continued to cruise up front while Lance Matthees started to work through the field. A caution on lap twenty took away Chad Mahders lead while Prochnow now sat in second. Sorensen and Cory Mahder raced for third as Matthees worked into fifth. With two to go Matthees and Prochnow raced for second with Prochnow holding the slight edge as the checkers flew.

Tim Donlinger led lap one of the NAPA AutoCare USRA Modified feature with Jay Ihrke in second. Brandon Davis and Jason Cummins sat in third and fourth as Mike Sorensen and Bob Timm raced for fifth. Cummins started to pressure Davis for third and with five down took over the third spot. Quickly Cummins moved past Ihrke on lap six to take over second. Nine completed saw Nate Wasmund challenge Sorensen for the fifth spot. The caution flew on lap eleven and on the restart Cummins had his hands full of Wasmund who was flying around the top side of the speedway. As they battled for second they were on Donlingers rear bumper and on lap sixteen Cummins pulled around Donlinger to take over the lead. With sixteen complete Cummins was leading with Wasmund and Donlinger racing for second. Dan Bohr was up challenging Davis for fourth with Mark Noble looking to get inside the top five. Bohr cleared Davis and took over the fourth spot while bob Timm worked on Davis for fifth. Cummins cruised home for the win his first this season at the Creek in weekly racing action. Wasmund, Donlinger, Bohr and Davis rounded out the top five.
