English Wins Special UMP Late Model Event at SFCR

FARMINGTON, MO. - (July 12, 2006) Terry English made his visit to the St. Francois County Raceway an enjoyable one Wednesday night as he won the special UMP Late Model feature. English was able to hold off Ed Dixon of Washington, Mo. for the win with Billy James third, Ken Schrader fourth and Brian Wolfmeier fifth. They were followed by Mike Hammerle, Rich Standridge, Mike Abney, Allen Hammond and Ron Jarrell.

Dixon won the dash with English second and Tim Munrille third. Hammerle won the first heat race with Munrille second and Wolfmeier third. Dixon won the second heat with English second and Dewayne Kieffer third.

In the Modified feature, Ray Wagner picked up the checkered flag with Rich Whaley second, Kasey Nations third, Jeff LaBaube fourth and Doug Wood fifth. They were followed by Doug DeClue, Allan Conners, Lou Driemeier, Adam Parmeley and John Bohn. The feature also include a horrifiying accident between Billy Smith and John Paul Reando where Smith's fuel cell was ripped open and caught fire. Amazingly, nobody was injured due to the quick work of track personnel, push buggy people and firefighters on hand in each corner of the track.

Wagner won the first heat race with Tommy Worley Sr. second and Kenny Kennedy third. Whaley won the second heat with Nations second and Doug Wood third. Tim Hill won the third heat with LaBaube second and Billy Smith third. Hill won the dash with Wagner second and Whaley third. Chris West won the "B" main with Bohn second and Dave Shepard third.

Chris Boyd of Park Hills was the winner of the Pure Street feature with John Bohn second, Mike Savage third, Travis Goodman fourth and Charlie Savage fifth. They were followed by Josh Skaggs, Greg Casey, Jason Brewington, Brian Blair and Paul Warren.

Wayne Frymier won the first heat with Brian Stephens second and Shane Blair third. Boyd won the second heat with Michael Abney second and Bohn third. Keith Kennon won the third heat with Josh Skaggs second and Goodman third.

Racing action at the St. Francois County Raceway will continue this Saturday night with a special $1,000 to win 600cc Multi feature. The winged Sprints, IMCA style Modifieds and Pure Streets will also be racing. For more information phone (573) 438-4546 or (573) 438-7337 or visit: www.sfcr.net
